Water pump replacement for 2001 Marquis
« on: November 22, 2012, 03:24:11 AM »
Some time ago I recall someone telling me exactly which model of water pump to get to replace the one on my 2001 Marquis.

I do recall the replacement would be a variable speed and was it 5 GPM?  5 GPM seems like a lot of water.  That means while showering you may use 50 gallons in a 10 minute shower?

I also recall that the model suggested would fit where my old one is without modification of the space.

Please assist me as I want to order it.

Richard,
It sounds like you are referring to the 55 Aquajet ARV series water pump. The pump is available from a number of sources.

Even though the pump will produce 5.3 GPM (gallons per minute), your showerhead will not allow that high of a flow rate, so there is no way that you will use 50 gallons of water for a shower. The 5.3 GPM flow rate is for unrestricted flow.

55-AQUAJET-ARV = model number

Are there any other fittings I need to order besides this pump alone?

Richard,
I do know what you are ordering since you posted a dead link. However a new pump should come with everything that you need.

Try this link

https://www.freshwatersystems.com/p-1070-aquajet-rv-5503-av15-b636-rv-pump-53-gpm-12vdc.aspx

It lists all kinds of things one may need to install it.  If I get a service tech to do it, will he/she by chance have all the fittings that could be needed....as specified lower part of the page?

Richard,

Having a service tech install a water pump is a very easy task for any competent service tech. It is always a good idea with a project like this to take a digital photo of your current install and send that to them or pass it along in person sometime before the job. He will know when he sees your current install what he will need to do get the job done. More than likely he would have what he needs on hand even without any preliminary information for something as simple as this.

Richard,
You should not need anything more than two 12 gauge butt connectors, and any competent technician will have those on hand.
