Bose- wiring issues

Hello all! This is my first post. My wife and I are proud new owners of a 2000 Beaver Patriot Thunder. This is our 2nd RV, the first was an 86 Fleetwood Southwind, I think we stepped up a little! Unfortunately(sort of we got this coach for a great price) this was a bank owned, and we have only half(I'm guessing) of the documents that we should have. I spent two days trying to figure out a battery charging issue only to discover that there are breakers in the closet that if switched off prevents shore power from charging the batteries, even though everything electrical still works. That was a cheap fix! The Bose head unit was malfunctioning and I was able to get it fixed for only $40.00, but now I have to try and figure out how the system is suppossed to be hooked up. Apparently the previous owner made quite a few changes to bypass the head unit and the dash head unit is tied to the Bose amp and two forward speakers only. The back Bose wave radio is also missing. Are the RCA jacks that come out of the cabinet inputs from the bedroom tv, or outputs to some other speakers? Does anyone know where pdfs can be found for the missing documents for my coach can be found, or maybe willing to share for a smile? Wiring diagrams especially.   We also need to add sleeping spaces for our 3 kids so if anyone has a jack-knife sleeper and a booth dinette they wish to trade for some green stuff let me know!

Welcome to BAC... You will come to enjoy the club and the forum.  The RCA plugs in the bedroom are coming from the Bose unit in front.  I do not think there are any wiring diagrams for your coach.  There may be some additional documents for other systems in your coach posted on the BAC website.  That kind of stuff was very limited on your model coach.

call Northwest rv supplies in Eugene Or, they have a huge supply of old beaver manuals and wiring diagrams in there new downtown location

Those RCA leads may have been outputs from the rear tv to the wave radio. If you trace the RCA ends that are connected where does that end go...that should be a clue.

A while ago I posted the 2000 Patriot owners manual on the BAC website.  One of these days I plan to scan in the Thunder supplement.  I also have the Hurricane and Silverleaf manuals in electronic form if you want them.  Unfortunately, I got rid of all my Bose manuals when I replaced the system.

i have a bose manual at the house if i can remember to grab it and bring to the office,

but in tracing wires you need to go to lowes/homedepot or electrical supply store and get a tone generator/ telephone tone generator and wand you hook one side up and it generates a tone and touch the wand to the wires to see which is the wire that your looking for. cost about 40-70$ and i used one for years as a cable tv technician

Thanks for the help. I was able to get the Bose to work. The speaker outputs were reversed on the back of the head unit so I had no sound until I used the remote, then I discovered that the front and rear were reversed.once that was fixed it worked great! Is the in-dash stereo supposed to turn off with the key, or do people put a switch on that to kill the power? It seems like the stereo being energized all the time will drain the batteries.
