Entry Handle Lights
« on: February 14, 2014, 02:24:08 AM »
All three (3) of our entry handle lights have gone out.  I'm thinking 'fuse'.  Has anyone ever had to find the fuse that might be for these lights?  We've checked the fuse panel in the bathroom but nothing about 'entry lights' is mentioned.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

Not sure where a fuse or breaker for that would be unless it's in concert with the porch light circuit.  Try your porch light to see.  If it is out also, the 12v porch light fuse is one of the spade ones in the square black box subset into the bathroom wall with the multiplex and alternating current Main and Inverter boxes.  There is also a porch light relay in the electric bay, drivers side front, relay # K23 on my '06 Monterey.  Check its connections and keep in mind relays often go bad.

Otherwise, these handle lights don't last forever.  One of ours started flickering and hadn't been used all that much.  BCS replaced it.  So it's possible all of your lamps need changing out.

Jowl, thanks for the input.  Our porch light still works.  Seems odd that all 3 handle lights would go out at the same time.  Will check the connections on that relay up front and see if it might be loose.

David,

I had two my handle lights go out at the same time on my 2005 Monterey.  Easy fix. I just replaced mine with LED bulbs.  Much cheaper than actual handle replacement bulbs.

No real point in checking that relay if your porch light works.  But you might pull the switch and check its connections.  After that the likelihood is good it's the lamps themselves as Dennis notes.  But Monday I'd give BCS a ring to see if they know where any fuse might be, since apparently no one on this Forum knows.
