315 80 R22.5 tires
« on: February 15, 2014, 08:19:27 PM »
Considering switching up from 295 80 R22.5 to 315 80 R22.5  because they are cheaper and have an L load rating.
If anyone has installed these tires, especially as steering tires, would they make comment on ride ,handling and fit please.   Thanks,  Jeremy

Jeremy,
I do not think that your coach will clear 315s. The ride and handling should be about the same as the 295s, but you will probably have extensive tire rubbing at the rear of the wheel housing on your 2000 model coach. This can be very bad because the air bag for the front suspension is located directly behind the wheel housing, and excessive tire rubbing can cause the air bag to fail.

I have seen one 2000 Marquis that had enough clearance to run 315s, but most of them will not clear that size tire. So before you install 315s, you should set down with a tire specification sheet and a tape measure to be sure that you have the clearance.

Thank you Gerald.  I have the measurements so I can double check before I go and order this size.  The attraction is not the size but the L load rating.   Jeremy
