Glue used on wiper seal corners
« on: August 25, 2014, 04:17:51 AM »
The upper corners of the slide wiper seals are cut and folded over and glued. I have a couple of corners that have come loose and need to be glued. The seals are in good shape, but the open corners allow water intrusion behind the seal. Does anyone know the type of glue Monaco used and where I can find it.

I used DAP Weldwood Contact Cement.  Put some on both surfaces to be glued together, let it set for 15 to 30 minutes, then push the surfaces together.  Make sure you get the surfaces pushed together where you want them... because after the glued surfaces touch you will not get a second chance to line them up.

Elite RV Repair in Coburg Oregon used a butyl cement on mine last year.  I had exactly the same problem causing leaks.  Still working great.  No leaks.
