Remote generator switch

Hello all,
On our 2005 Monterey, the switch on the dash will not start the generator, the light only comes on but does not flash and the generator does not start. If I run the generator out, and try starting from the switch on the generator, it starts...?

Has anyone had this problem, and could the switch on the dash be inop?

While generator is out look on the right side. Follow the ribbed wiring loom to a connector. Pull it apart and look for any corrosion green in color, clean and reconnect. Even if it is not compromised pulling it apart and back together may help. That connection leads to the dash switch.

From the egg on my face department, I had not used the dash switch to start the generator in a while and as you all know it's a rocker switch, two positions...and guess which way I was trying to start the generator........OFF!
