Digitron 5800 Command Center Alarm Codes
« on: December 29, 2015, 04:52:41 PM »
I have a 1992 Beaver Marquis 40' that I bought a few months ago.  I am trying to get the bugs out of it.  The Digitron 5800 Command Center seems to have some problems.
1.  It will go on or off by itself every once in a while.
2.  Sometimes it will lock up.  You can't turn it off.  All you can do is remove all the power from the coach and I guess that forces it to reset itself.
3.  Right now I have what I guess to be an alarm number listed in the engine hours and generator hours windows.  The Engine Hours reads E9F1 and the Generator Hours reads bE11.

Does anyone out there know anything about what these error codes might be.  I tried resetting the command console (removed all the coach power then turned it back on) but the same alarm codes come back.  Those codes just came up for the first time yesterday.  Up until then there were just normal numbers there indicating actual running hours I guess.

Joe,
That system has been out of production for about 25 years, so the only people who remember anything about it are the one who were involved with Beaver back when it was used like Ken Carpenter at Beaver Coach Sales in Bend.

Gerald,

Have you heard of anyone actually having any of the old documentation or schematics on that Digitron 5800 Command Center??

Joe.

Joe,
I have never worked on one, and I do not know of anyone with documentation on the system. That is why I suggested you might want to contact Ken Carpenter at BCS, who worked at the Beaver factory when your coach was built.

Gerald,

I looked him up on-line and found his phone # at his work location.  I will give him a call after New Years and see if he has any information that he can pass on.  In the meantime, I'm going to try Jack's suggestion about dropping the panel and checking and cleaning all of the push-on leads that I find.  Thanks for giving me his name though; I appreciate it.   Have a great New Year, Joe
