Entry step light
« on: October 01, 2016, 08:27:24 PM »
The amber light under my entry step is not working.  I tried to remove the lens from the fixture to check the bulb but it didn't unscrew or pop off easily.  What's the correct method for removing the lens?  The owner's manual references a circuit breaker in the front electrical bay (CB9).  How do I determine which breaker is 9?  Once I locate it, how do I test it?  And is there something other than the bulb and circuit breaker I should check?  Thanks!

Is there a schematic glued on the inside of your electrical bay door?  If so, then the connector points are mostly all labeled on the schematic.

Thanks David.   Good suggestion.  There is a schematic and it does show which breaker is CB9.  On the schematic, CB9 is called out as "Lighter".   Does that sound like the light?   I'm not aware of a lighter anywhere in the coach...   The wire coming off CB9 says "154 Batt Outlet" which doesn't sound like it would power the light under the step or a lighter....

David

My amber step light didn't work so I figured how to remove the lens with a small flat blade screw driver the cover just snaps on so pry down on the lip and the lens it should pop off.

the next problem I had was the light was never connected I followed the lead wire from the light housing and found it dangling never had been connected from the factory.

Thanks Steve.  I'll check the wire and pop the lens and check the bulb.  I'll let you know what I find.

The wire to the fixture was cut.  So I spliced it and the light now works.  Thanks for the help!
