Aladdin temperature/compas module
« on: November 22, 2016, 05:32:49 PM »
With respect to heating the bay that houses the black and grey tanks. Does the Aladdin Temperature/Compass Module in my bay control the AquaHot/HydroHot heating of the bay or is there a separate thermostat that I am not seeing? Also is it user stable of set at the factory to a preset temp?

Thanks

Jeff,
There is a button t'stat at the heat exchanger in the bay that turns the fan on at about 40 degrees. The Hydro-Hot has to have either the electric or diesel burner on for heat to be supplied.

Thanks Steve. Is that factory set or user accessible?

Jeff,
The button t'stat is not adjustable. Only way to change temp setting is to install a different button t'stat for the desired temp. 40 degrees is about perfect for the basement bays so my advice would be not to change it. Keep in mind that if your inverter is in the basement, it is also supplying heat to the area.

To add to Steve's comments, the Aladdin modules only provide data to the dash screen for your perusal.  They don't really provide control to a device, although you can adjust some Aladdin sensors themselves for accuracy, like calibrating the compass or tanks.

And the HydroHot unit is likely on your coach in the same bay as the water tank, helping to keep it from freezing with just its radiant/ambient heat.
