Mystery Oil Leak
« on: October 27, 2022, 11:30:52 PM »
After full-timing through last winter, we winterized and put our rig away for the winter a couple weeks ago. I went back to check on it a couple days ago and saw a minor oil leak that I had never seen before. The attached picture is from under the engine (C-13). There is a bit oil dripping from the down tube. Does anyone know what that is? Thanks!

I think your leak is coming from the aptly named 'slobber tube' and is not to worry. Someone else can chime in here with a more definitive answer.

That is your slobber tube and the blow by that has accumulated from the oil mist coming out of it.  If you google it you can find many solutions from catch cans, to extending the line to a point under the rear bumper.  Now if it's like my Cat, you may still have other leaks, but hopefully not.

Thanks guys. Rarely is something so appropriately named. Fortunately nothing else on our rig leaks. Thanks again.
