Curtain motor case

Anybody have any idea where I can get the plastic housing for the curtain motor?

It just fell apart sitting still.

UPDATE, I have repaired the case and it works.....for now.  Duct tape is a wonderful thing.   Would still like to find a new one.  The old one seems to have become brittle as the heat from the window (sun) seems to have effected it.

If anyone can give any suggestions for a place to find a new one I would appreciate their response.

Of course try BCS (800-382-2597).  Also try Northwest RV Supply in Eugene :  866-678-7467 or www.nwrvsupply.com.

Duct tape is a wonderful thing... and it has almost taken the place of baling wire.  Also, duct tape comes in a myriad of colors and with many designs.  Your curtain motor casing is probably stronger after being wrapped with duct tape than it was when new.  I grew up on a farm in the 50s and 60s before duct tape, but I have certainly adapted.  Leslie reminds me I have strategically placed rolls of duct tape in every vehicle and many drawers around the house.

Joel, called NWS and not anything.  Called BCS left message hours ago with no response whatsoever. Not very happy they don't check their messages apparently.

Will call tomorrow again and speak with management to share my disappointment. Guess the money on the east coast does not spend as well. Haha

Anyway the duck tape held and I will mount some strapping to ensure it holds in place for the time being.  Maybe the folks at BCS or alliance will have something.

Thanks for the help.  By the way it appears the Sterling made the case and they are out of business.

Tom,

Perhaps BCS was closed for MLK Day. I've always had great service for them.Tomorrow call BCS and ask for Scott Laidlaw in the parts dept. 541-322-1376

Gary's right, Tom.  They likely were closed today as many businesses were.  Try again Tuesday if they have haven't returned your message early tomorrow.

David, I've learned to be rather careful with the duct tape.  Years ago the wife got enamored with using it as a fixall, but after cleaning up the residue left behind by the tape a few times, she and I opt for alternative fixes nowadays.  There were times the tape did much more harm than good.  Where appropriate, a properly used epoxy mix works better.

Have you found a case yet? I think I may have one in my shop, I replaced my electric curtain with a manual pull and kept the motor.
Let me know if I should look for it.

FYI.  A couple of months ago my curtain motor started slipping again. I had already taped up the crumbling plastic housing with duct tape.  I read somewhere on this website that it was possible to remove the mechanism altogether and then move the curtain on its runners by a rod, attached to the end by the door.
After removing the curtain,  I unscrewed the ends, unscrewed the motor after disconnecting the wiring from the switch ,cut the continuous loop drive tape and pulled it all out. The motor housing crumbled in my hands !! I reinstalled the end caps, put the curtain back up ,correctly spaced on its runners eh voila !!
In a simple swish I can open and close the whole curtain in seconds......with no worries it is going to stop half way !!

Thanks Jeremy if may end up that way.  But I gonna give it a try at least.  I prefer original so it will be an antique if possible but manual may be the final fix.

I will even consider making a case for out od wood or sheet metal. Right now it's taped and strapped from the bottom so we will see.

Thank you for the info.

I went the manual rod route too after my motor quit working. While it was efficient and quicker, it just wasn't as elegant as pushing a button so I rebuilt the motor and am back to the intention of the Beaver designers.....
