My RV repair service department suggests this is a major repair, having to remove the fuel tank to access the  inboard end of the cylinder.  Have not yet determined what's leaking, hose, fitting or cylinder.   Is it possible to access this area by removing the air tank?

Lee,
I am not familiar with the location and access to your slide cylinder, but slide cylinder leaks are rare, and hose failures are fairly common because the hoses installed on most coaches are rated at the minimum rating for the system.

Lee we just had the old Monaco repair facility Coburg ,Oregon replace three hydraulic lines that were leaking by the hydraulic reservior. The cost was expensive at $1400.00 due primarily to labor. It took about 6 hours but the work was flawless. Our 07 Contest only uses air for leveling but your coach might have hydraulic  jacks as well which could be leaking. The hydraulic  reservior for our slides is located on the passenger side front bay above our Aqua Hot. Hope this helps. Good luck,Bryan

Today I went to a large shop with a pit rack.  I was able to access the mount end of the hydraulic cylinder above and behind the air tank (midship).  Fixed the leak by tightened the hose fitting on the cylinder .... cost $83.42 CDN.

Glad you were able to get r dun, Lee.   Sometimes it just takes a little wherewithal; and having pit rack available helps too!
