Aqua hot blowing some cold air
« on: May 10, 2022, 07:20:50 PM »
Just recently had my Aqua serviced and with this recent cold weather the furnace has been running noticed one of the heat vents is blowing cold air the other 4 are working fine not sure what to look for is it a heat exchanger? Any feedback would be appreciated also front headlight relay seems to be stuck on the circuit board as the low beams only come on when i hit the high beam switch then they are all on so my question is do i need to replace the circuit board?

Thanks

Paul

Remove the vent cover and see if you can reach and feel the hoses connected to the exchanger, to see if at least one red hose is fairly warm.  If not, then it’s common for a zone pump to have a valve stuck shut.

I guess from what others have reported here you can gently rap on the back of a pump to jar the valve open.  I’d shut off all thermostats except the one controlling the cold exchanger and leave that one set at say 80.  Then see which pump, located behind the AquaHot’s cover at the bottom front, is “humming”.  That’s the one with an apparently stuck valve, not letting hot fluid through the lines.  Others here that have had to do this may elaborate, and I’ll have to defer the headlight issue as well.

In the photo, one pump is seen in the lower left with ”Papst” printed on it.

Paul,
We don't have the 06 Marquis wiring diagrams but from looking at similar diagrams it appears to me that the problem is at the dimmer switch. That is the only place where the high and low beam circuits are joined. Otherwise they are separate circuits. Pg 28 of the 2004 Patriot Thunder wiring diagrams in Coach Assist shows the headlight circuit that I think is applicable to your coach.

Paul,

Please refer to your original December post where I provided information about the headlight circuits for your 2006 Patriot Thunder and troubleshooting suggestions. I will add some additional information and a better image of PCB 8.

Hi Paul
I can’t help with the headlights much.
Your Aqua Hot is probable the AHE100-04-S.  The check valves can get gummed up as Joel mentions.  Find the Hot line that isn’t hot as it passes through the top of the AH box.  Give that fitting a light rap or two.
I hope that does it for you as the pumps are not available and replacing with the new design means new hoses and draining the system.  The new pumps are not cheap.
Also, we replaced just the bad pump and flushed the system adding all new fluid.  Now we have a different one going bad.  Should have put all new in.
